Pipeline Integrity Management & Corrosion Mitigation
AMPP India Chapter (NACE International India Section) is organizing the Educational Training Program on “Pipeline Integrity Management & Corrosion Mitigation” scheduled from 19 Jan (Monday) & 20 Jan (Tuesday) 2026 at Hotel Crowne Plaza, Mayur Vihar-Delhi, Noida.
OBJECTIVE – Pipelines are the most efficient, safe and economic mode of transport for Oil and Gas, Hydrocarbons and Water. Rightly considered the lifeline of modern industrial infrastructure, steel pipeline and vulnerable to atmospheric corrosion above ground and electrolytic corrosion in underground/marine environments. Pipeline Corrosion can result in colossal losses and create safety hazards for people, assets and environment. India currently has nearly 69,800 km of operational cross-country pipelines for products transportation, with an additional 35,000 km under construction by early to end-2025.
Pipeline Integrity Management & Corrosion Mitigation techniques are essential for maintaining a safe and reliable pipeline asset. Based on the operational requirements, a pipeline may be assessed with a combination of various integrity tools during the life of pipeline such as In-Line Inspection (ILI), Direct Assessment (DA), and Pressure Testing. Each integrity assessment method complements the other and do not have identical performances, rather each has an advantage over others. Essentially, there are three ways to confirm the physical condition of pipelines; Monitoring, Testing and Inspections covering under Integrity Management. This will also dig deeper into the pivotal role of Coatings, Cathodic Protection (CP), AC/DC Interference detection and mitigation and how it related to overall pipeline integrity.
TOPICS TO BE COVERED – TRAINING PROGRAM
❖ The Role of Integrity Management in Oil & Gas Pipelines: A Global Perspective.
❖ Introduction to Pipeline Integrity Management Plans
❖ Pre-Design Considerations: Materials Selection and Survey Requirements
❖ Pipeline Integrity Management- Incidents and Learnings
❖ Pipeline Integrity Life Cycle and Risk Assessment
❖ Describe Remediation Activities and Repair Methods of Pipelines
❖ Understand How Direct Assessment Fits in the Overall Pipeline Integrity Management Plan
❖ Pipeline Coating and Cathodic Protection Systems
❖ Pipeline Standards & Regulations (Provisions of OISD/PNGRB/Others)
❖ Cathodic Protection System and AC / DE Interference & Mitigation
❖ Pipeline Data Analysis and Interpretation Techniques
❖ Case Studies – Pipeline Corrosion & Failure Analysis
❖ Certificate Distribution
WHY ATTEND:
The training program is aimed at reducing the end users’ cost of corrosion, predicting and preventing pipeline failures due to corrosion, enhancing product quality & improving plant safety. It also supports the long-term integrity of pipelines and describing the minimum requirements, guidelines and procedures necessary to control operating risks, etc. Participants will learn about corrosion management and various methods for mitigating corrosion-related losses in pipelines, along with the major corrosion challenges faced across the industry. The interactive sessions will provide an opportunity to clarify doubts and learn from the experiences of other professionals.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
Executives of all levels from production, engaged in planning, design, installation, testing, and commissioning, monitoring, and maintenance of pipeline through corrosion protective coating, cathodic protection system and other methods/techniques for prevention and control of corrosion of steel pipeline and its mitigation. Engineers (i.e. Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemistry, Project) & Technologists, Technicians and Maintenance Personnel, Quality Assurance, Quality Control Personnel, Facility Owners, Contractors, Service Providers, Responsible for Internal / External Pipeline, Pipeline Integrity implementation and others relevant disciplines from Oil and Gas Industry for prevention and its control, etc. It is designed to give the participants a path for continued professional development.
